I'm Back!!
Hello everyone! I'm so glad to be back. I've been away for a few days{seemed like several weeks!} on a trip to Cagayan de Oro City to conduct a medical mission at one of the evacuation centers where the typhoon Sendong survivors were housed. Together with a team from Department of Health, we were able to do medical check-up on more than 500 patients. Most of them had cough and colds, especially the infants and children. It was a heartbreaking experience to see their condition after having lost their loved ones and their homes. I took a bit of photos from the evacuation center and the some areas of devastation.
This river in Cagayan de Oro City overflowed up to 30 feet high last December 16, 2011 at around 4:00AM. |
My trip back home was a 9 hour drive from Cagayan de Oro City. It was long and exhausting but at the end of the day, the thought that I was able to help those in need was a rewarding experience.

Here's a quick card that I made today. I like to combine orange and blues. For me, these are happy colors.
This card measures 3.5 inches x 4 inches. I stamped the sentiment on the printed paper then put all the embellishments together. I stamped and cut out the bird and placed it on top.
Here's a front view
Here are the materials used:
Fiskars stamp - bird and sentiment
paper flower
satin ribbon
wavy ribbon
Orange cardstock
paisley print - DCWV
Stazon ink-black
Colorbox- blue
Prima - printed paper
buttons
adhesives

REPLYLuanne - I just bought a bunch from a textile store here in Zamboanga City. They have lot's of paper flowers (and plastic ones) but for me, Prima is still the best.
REPLYWow! What an intricate card - lots going on on such a small space! Thanks for playing at Wee Memories this week!
