Meet new friend, Georgie

Hiya! Today is Chinese New Year, the year of the Water Dragon. Kung Hei Fa Choi to all! We Filipinos are influenced much by the Chinese. That's why we love Chinese food {especially Soy sauce, Siopao and Pancit}! I even studied in a Chinese school during high school.

Today, I'd like you to meet a new friend Georgie Horn,
I met her through my sister Luanne, and just like the rest of us, she likes to blog about her craft projects at PUDDIN' AND PIE BLOG. On her latest post, she's sharing about her family and celebrating her mother's 79th birthday. I think it's very sweet. She even posted their family photo.Take a peek at her parents' photo way back in 1955 here.

For the mean time I would like to share the cover of a wedding guestbook that I just finished making this afternoon.

When I make a guestbook, I always use the 8"x9" "stripped" scrapbook that is found here in our stores, made by All About Scrapbooking.

Here's what I did:

1. I measured a canvass cloth and cut it into appropriate size, then blasted it with glimmer mist. Then lt dry.

2. Once the cloth was dry, I covered it on the scrapbook board cover. I used Elemer's spray glue to adhere the cloth on the board.

3. I got the digis from FAR FAR HILL, while the yellow and green papers used for the birds were digi papers from MY GRAFICO; I resized the digis in Photoshop. The couple's names were also made using Photoshop.

4. I cut all the elements needed using Spellbinders Birdcage, Foliage, and Label die. I hand-cut the rose image. I inked the birds and the leaves using Tim Holtz distress ink in Crushed Olives. Then, I blasted all elements with glimmer mist Sun Sisters and Walnut Gold. Allow to dry.

5. After several minutes, I positioned all elements together, and when I was satisfied with the layout, I placed foam tapes and glue dots on the backside of the elements, then stuck them on the canvass.

6. I punched small flower, pierced a hole in the middle then slightly tucked the petals together between my thumb and index finger.

7. Lastly, I stuck the flowers with glue dots, then added gems in the middle.

Finally, I am so satisfied today because I have finished packaging my card creations, ready for selling.

See how nice these cuties are! This will go on display at my friend's shop and hopefully, many will like (and buy) them. So, are you doing the same thing with some of your cards?
