Thank God it's Saturday once again! It's bright and sunny today here in Zambaonga City. I've got ripe mangoes here at home and I'm going to make some Mango Ice Cream Cake. Sounds delicious, huh? Yes, It is!! Later, I'll share with you (with pictures!!!) how to do it.

I made some projects lately and had no time to post them because....hmmm... just because.

A SPECIAL NOTE FROM ME TO YOU

For this card, I used white, silver, and a splash of pink. I wanted to use my stamp from The Craft's Meow and I was glad to have a paper to go with the sentiment. I used the lovely Memory Makers Jet T' Aime kit.

The pink and white flowers are from Prima. The ribbon and the silver leaf were bought from a local textile store. Most of the time, I just use what is available because I can't find a REAL craft store here in our city.

ME AND YOU
Now, this card, I think, is something you can give to the man in your life. I found the vintage image at Far Far Hill. It's really romantic. I went all the way with yellow and green hues to match the image.

Here's a closer look... I painted the edges of the patterned paper with vintage yellow scrapbook paint. The swirl corner is a stamp from American Crafts. Me and You stamp is from The Craft's Meow.

 Green and Yellow Purse

I am just a sucker for little purses. I used the same cute pattern from Splitcoast stampers and printed it on a cardstock, then cut the shape. You'll see some embossing here, and a die-cut flower from Spellbinders.

With the help of Scor-Pal, I got the edges right.

I'm so fond of glimmer mist right now, so I blasted the clasp with Sun Sisters.

Oh, you might notice the watermark, I posted this on my shop .

MANGO ICE CREAM CAKE

To make a mango ice cream cake, you'll need fresh, ripe, and sweet mangoes. Five or six large mangoes will do. Wash and peel the skin, then slice the flesh into long, thin strips (like you see in the photo below)

Next, you'll need a pack of biscuits. I used chocolate flavored Graham crackers. Place the crackers in a wooden mortar and crush it into crumbs with a pestle.

After crushing crackers, set it aside. Then mix 1 can of condensed milk with 2 boxes of all purpose cream. Whip it up till smooth.

Next,  prepare a good-sized container. Layer crackers on the bottom portion.

After that, arrange a layer of mango strips on top of the crackers.

Next, pour the milk and cream mixture on top of the mango until there's enough cover.

To make a second layer, spread biscuit crumbs on top of the cream-milk mixture. Make sure the crumbs are thick enough and evenly spread by patting it with a spatula.

Follow the previous steps... layer the mango strips then pour cream-milk mixture on top.
On the top most layer, sprinkle a few biscuit crumbs, arrange a few mango strips on top, and mabe some cherries, then it's done.

Finally, here's how it looks right in the freezer... See all those layers? It's not really perfect, so make sure to PAT the crumbs well to spread it evenly... Let this stay in the freezer for 2-3 hours or more, then serve. This makes about 8 servings. I'll show you later how to serve it.
