Altered Jar

Hi everyone! I just want to share an altered jar that I made out of a mayonnaise jar. I really like the rounded body of this jar. To make it stand out in my craft cabinet, I decorated it with pearls, ribbons, and conchos.

For the cap: I cut a printed paper to it's desired shape then adhered it to the top of the cap. Then I decorated the top with die cut medallions held together with a tiny concho.

I wrapped a blue satin ribbon on the side of the cap, and secured the ends with hot glue. I picked out a blue concho, flattened the "teeth" on it's back side, then hot glued it over the ends of the ribbon.

I had a blue and white sticker borders and elements in my stack, so I used it to decorate the body of the jar. Then finally, I was working on this teapot digi - which is a new release from The Crafty Pad Designs, I punched the image out using a 2"x2" circle punch and used it as a tag/pendant for the string of pearls that I placed around the neck of the jar.

Here's a look at the top of the cap.

That's my altered jar! Do think twice before discarding those pretty food jars!
