Hello my crafty friends! It's me Venus posting here. Today I'm showing you how I made these gift boxes meant for my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. I really really love this purse box, especially the flowers. It's different from the other purses that I've made plus, I'm sharing my first ever hand made flower mini tutorial.

To make the box: I used 8.5"x13" plain cardstock. I scored the box to the desired size, the cut away the extras.

Next, I applied glue ( I used stick glue) all over the plain cardstock then placed
my patterned paper over it. Fort this I used a paper from 7Gypsies Zanzibar.

Then, I lined the other side with a coordinating paper. After that, place the double sided tapes on the corners of the longest side of the paper, then assemble the box.

This is how it looked like after I folded and assembled the box.

To make the flower centerpiece, I cut out the petals using two kinds of dies: Sizzix 3D rose and Tim Holtz tattered flowers. I used a printed cardstock (actually a DCWV Holiday paper with glitters) and a plain shimmery cardstock. I embossed one of the petals using Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder then inked the edges with Versafine ink in Deep Lagoon. Following a variety of the flower-making techniques done by crafty ladies on Youtube (creasing, rolling, etc... I've watched so many tutorials before doing this!), my final product looked like the one below. I'm not sure if anyone have ever combined these two dies before, but I really, really liked the outcome!! My experiment with these dies was a success! LOL

I made a coordinating box for the blue flower. The blue printed papers that I used are by All About Scrapbooking. I layered the flap of this box with a deco border made by using Martha Stewart Vintage Doily  punch.

I also made a small card for each of the boxes I made. I got the woman images and background from Free Vintage Digital Stamps, while the ticket senti is a digi from The Crafty Pad.

On the inside, I lined the card with pieces of Prima paper and stamped it with a sentiment from Hero Arts. I used Dew Drop Brilliance ink in pearlescent chocolate. I used decorative scissors to put some edging on the paper.

Here's my other box. I really love the rich colors here... Deep plum, eggplant, and burnt orange. The edging on the flap was made using Spellbinders borderabilities die. Then, I attached the handle on the sides with a brad.  Lastly, I sprayed Juneberry wine glimmer mist by Tattered angels just in the middle of the flower.

Here's the pink flower that I made... I used Chatterbox Rosey Garden Scrapbook Walls patterned paper and a plain shimmery cardstock. I distressed it with TH Victorian velvet ink then sprayed the center of the flower with Dreamsicle glimmer mist by Tattered angels. I added some leaves which I made using Spellbinders foliage die.

Now here it is, a face powder compact fits right there!
I still have to attach a velcro tape to the flap to serve as closure for this box... later!!
