Hello my blog friends! Welcome to Sisters Craft Cafe, and it's me Venus posting here today. I think Luanne's going to be very busy this weekend because our mom and dad's going to visit her in Cebu! LOL.

Well, first I have one exciting news... My layout titled "Beautiful" was chosen as July's Favorite at Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge Blog Yey!! Luanne's layout was also chosen as July's Favorite and we both get some goodies!!  Oh, how nice!

Here's the badge that we earned.... My sis and I would like to thank the ladies who worked hard to put up this challenge and to Ces de Guzman for the goodies. Excited to see the mail!

Update August 17, 2012: Surprise from Ces de Guzman

And look what I got from the mail, handmade flower and embellishments!

Now I'm posting a  new layout inspired by a sketch made by Kath from the Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge Blog. See sketch HERE

The title of this page is Howdee, a memory of a Ranch party that I attended in May 2009 with Rey (still dating with him at that time).

An 8"x 8" layout

I hand painted the chipboard letters then arranged the word on the corner of the page. To add color to the chipboard gears, I just inked them with Memento rhubarb stalk and graphite black using the Dirty Ink method.

TECHNIQUE: Dirty Ink Look
To get the "dirty ink look" as I call it, lay the chipboard on top of the ink pad and press the chipboard using a toothpick or the tips of a scissors. Repeat this method on another colored ink pad.

The scalloped square background was cut using my Silhouette Cameo, then distressed it with Rangers Tea Dye ink.

I had fun making this simple page!!

Supplies:
Dies: Sizzix Tim Holtz wordplay, Sizzix Tim Holtz gears, Papers: Graphic 45 Zanzibar; Top One specialty cardstock; Puncher: EK corner punch; Others: eyelet setter and eyelet, Tim Holtz paper distresser;  Silhouette Cameo; Sizzix Vintag; foam; adhesives

I'm entering this to challenges:
