Hi everyone! It's me Venus posting here. How time flies, it's already September. My newborn baby is turning one month old. Soon, it will be Christmas then it will be 2013. What projects are you making? Have you started making your card sets?
Well, as a matter of fact, I haven't started making any holiday cards. But surely I will, when I get my presents from Luanne in a few days. I'm getting a boxful of craft supplies. Yey! So, what I did was clean up my craft space, gave away my unused stuff. For those who do not know yet, I make a lot of scrap paper from my invitations business. Lots and lots! I am now planning to turn those scraps into something useful.... Here's what I made out of the cuttings...

 BE YOU Memo pad

This memo pad is 3"x6" in size. The cover is made out scrap chipboard which I covered with a pretty Prima paper from the Mademoiselle collection. I inked the sides of the cover to give it an aged look. The embellishments used here are crocheted flower (I made it), a handmade paper flower given by a friend, Ces de Guzman, a punched leaf, an old tag that I've been hoarding for years, pearls, and a bird from Tim Holtz bird cage die and also a Tim Holtz flourish die.

I stamped the tag with a sentiment from an Ali Edwards stamp... Be You. Look at the yellow bird.. it has a glazed finish. The yellow color is from the glimmer mist, then the glaze was made by spreading Judikins Diamond Glaze over it then put it in the freezer. The result is a crumpled glaze look.http://stampedblessings.com/2012/09/amusing-challenges-anything-but-a-card/

And below are photos of how the memo pad looks. These are orange papers that were left overs from a wedding invite that I made several months ago (why haven't I thought about this project earlier??). The stamps on the corners are from Fiskars birds set.

Wow, this project turned out nice for me. I think I'll make more of these soon.

I'd like to enter this project to some challenges:
