How to Use the Grand Calibur with Non-Spellbinders Embossing Folder

Hello! Afte a long break from blogging here at Sisters Craft Cafe, here I am with a post that will make up for my absence... This is supposed to be a FRIDAY TUTORIAL FEATURE, but anyway.....

Have you ever tried using the regular embossing folders in your Grand Calibur machine? It was scary right? The feeling wasn't right when the handle would not turn. But don't frown at this machine because I've found the right combinations....

COMBINATIONS
(from bottom to top)
1. Spellbinders Rose Platform ---for embossing
2. Spellbinders Rubber mat ----for embossing
3. Die-sire 8x8 embossing folder
(paper)
4. Sizzix Extended Cutting plate (may also use the standard sized cutting plate)

Just put the all together in this order and everything will be fine.

 

But since the cutting plate is only 6 inches, you will not be able to entirely emboss the 8x8. BUT WAIT!!!!!
SIZZIX has introduced its new 9" wide BIG SHOT at CHA 2015. I'll be waiting for its accessories to arrive here in the Philippines, and finally will be able to get that 9 inch wide cuttting plate..
